Maintenance Guide for FlaxFarms

Introduction

This guide is designed for partners responsible for the maintenance of Vegger FlaxFarm. Proper maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of the systems.

Please follow the instructions below carefully.

01. Annual Maintenance

Annual maintenance involves a thorough cleaning and replacement of essential components to ensure system performance.

Steps:

1.1. Replace the Filters:

  • Remove the old filters from the system in each layer.
  • Install the new filters.
  • Ensure the filters are securely in place.

1.2. Drain the System:

  • Use an external water pump with a water hose to fully drain the water reservoir into a sink or drain.
  • Activate the pump by switching the water drainage button (DP) to the “on” position.
  • Inspect the pipes and reservoir for buildup, dirt, or limescale.

1.3. Flush the System:

After emptying the water tank (Step 2: Drain the System), the system should be flushed with clean water:

  • Turn off the water drainage pump.
  • Add clean water to each layer (tray) of the system. Allow the water to flow downward, flushing out dirt and debris into the water tank.
  • Once the water has drained into the tank, use the pump to empty the tank into a sink or drain.

1.4. Clean and Refill:

  • Manually remove and thoroughly clean any remaining dirt or residue in the trays and water tank.
  • Refill the system with fresh (tap) water using a water hose.

1.6. System Test:

  • After refilling, restart the system and check that all components are functioning correctly.

02. Maintenance During Service Visits (Bimonthly )

Regular service visits help ensure the system runs smoothly without interruptions for the user.

Steps:

2.1. Check the Water Level:

  • Inspect the water level in the reservoir.
  • Add water to reach the recommended level shown by water level indicator attached to the water tank

2.2. Visual Inspection:

  • Inspect components, such as pipes, filters, pumps, and the reservoir, for dirt or buildup.
  • Remove any debris, including leaves or plant roots.
